Por primera vez, se liberar\u00e1n <strong>pichones criados en cautiverio<\/strong>, en lo que representa un hito sin precedentes para evitar su extinci\u00f3n.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<!--more-->\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Desde hace m\u00e1s de una d\u00e9cada, un equipo liderado por la veterinaria <strong>Gabriela Gabarain<\/strong> trabaja en la <strong>Estaci\u00f3n Biol\u00f3gica \u201cJuan Mazar Barnett\u201d<\/strong>, llevando adelante la cr\u00eda <em>ex situ<\/em> de esta especie \u00fanica, desde el huevo hasta su reinserci\u00f3n en el ambiente natural. Esta estrategia, compleja y rigurosa, ha sido una de las m\u00e1s prometedoras para salvar al Mac\u00e1 Tobiano.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">El proceso comienza en las remotas <strong>lagunas de meseta<\/strong>, donde los <em>guardianes de colonia<\/em> identifican potenciales sitios de reproducci\u00f3n y monitorean la puesta de huevos. El Mac\u00e1 Tobiano suele poner dos, pero en el 97% de los casos s\u00f3lo logra criar uno. En ese momento, el equipo extrae cuidadosamente el \u201chuevo de reaseguro\u201d y lo traslada a la estaci\u00f3n biol\u00f3gica para su incubaci\u00f3n.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Los pichones, tras la eclosi\u00f3n, requieren <strong>cuidados intensivos las 24 horas<\/strong>, con alimentaci\u00f3n cada media hora durante su primer mes de vida.
